Stone Island Shadow Project | Nylon Metal “Spider”

Stone Island just released its SS18 lookbook for the Shadow Project range, and the treatment showcased on this Nylon Metal piece is one the more intriguing developments this season. Utilizing the proprietary and high sheen textile as a base, the surface undergoes a metallic dye process and hand applied polyurethane filament, resulting in a matte shroud; providing a visual similarity to spider webbing. The rugged and tech aesthetic is further fortified with utilitarian aspects, most notably in the “Drop Pocket” situated at the chest. Once an item enters that pocket, through an internal canal, it slides to the hand pocket directly below it. A detail that has been included in various garments since FW17. Available now through Stone Island’s official webstore.
