“Les Mains Sans Sommeil”

by the Fondation d'Enterprise Hermès

The Fondation d’Entreprise Hermès is the enduring doctrinal program put on by the French fashion house to encourage artists working primarily in craft and design. With their own brand steeped in decades of refined craftsmanship, the foundation advocates for artists who are “seeking to learn, perfect, transmit and celebrate the creative skills that shape our lives today and into the future.” The Fondation currently runs nine programs, a range allowing for artists of all vocations to be incubated under the Hermès banner. Photographers, visual and performance artists, and designers have their respective programs, while craftsmen are allotted both the ‘Skills Factory’ and ‘Skills Academy’, and the ‘Biodiversité’ program investigates the governance of global value chains. This season, the Fondation will honour nine of their resident artists at the Palais de Tokyo for an event entitled “Les Mains Sans Sommeil”. Having had the inaugural opening last Friday, the exhibit will be in view through to January 7th of next year.
