Blurring Boundaries | Nalata / Nalata

An exhibition of wooden tableware by Ryuji Mitani

NYC’s Nalata Nalata concludes its 4 part exhibition series highlighting Japanese artisan materials with an immersive experience with talented woodworker Ryuji Mitani. Regarded as a pioneer of the Seikatsu Kougei movement of Japan, Mitani employs a combination of traditional carving and finishing techniques, transforming solid wood into delicate yet functional home accessories. A concise capsule of this work will be on display alongside unique collaborative pieces, created exclusively for Nalata Natala.
The opening reception is scheduled for next Friday, October 20th and will run until the 29th. For more information on the event and works by Ryuji Mitani, visit Nalata/Nalata online.
