First introduced as part of the Veilance SS’14 lineup, the Nomin and Seque bags still remain the only two luggage accessories offered in the entire collection. Made to offer refined consumers a domestically made product, with water resistant capabilities and the versatility of use in both casual and professional settings, the duo experience their first revision this season.
The most notable change is the transition from a grid patterned nylon ripstop to a plain weave nylon textile with a urethane laminate, which Veilance has named AC². Arc’teryx claims the AC² textile to be the most advanced fabric they currently use and boasts an ideal ratio of durability against weight savings. Interior pockets are also rearranged for better accessibility while waterproof hardware, magnetic closures and taped seams remain standard.
Generation 1 Nomin packs came with a detachable laptop sleeve but are absent in this version, though its worth noting that this update is significantly slimmer and offers a more “attractive” shape that its boxier predecessor. Priced from $450-$980CAD, these accessories are not cheap, this is reflective of the hand craftsmanship at Arc’teryx’s facility in Vancouver, the R&D and fielding testing which goes into further developing such high end and functional products.
