For more than twenty years, LA-based Stones Throw Records has been putting out some of the most cutting-edge and eclectic hip-hop. Founded and run by Peanut Butter Wolf, the label brought us iconic albums from Madvillain and J Dilla, as well as introducing the world to new classics from Dâm-Funk and NxWorries. Recently the label opened up its own studio in Highland Park to record, mix and master albums on its roster. The new facility — which recently saw Dean Blunt roll through — is housed in the former home of Centro de Arte Publico and punk label Fatima Recordz. FACT Mag took a tour through the studio and spoke to Peanut Butter Wolf, Egyptian Lover and Karriem Riggins about how the new space adds to the label’s enduring legacy. Check out the studio here.
