The Magnum Home for Photo London

For this year’s edition of Photo London, Magnum Photos and publishers Plinth and Thames & Hudson have launched The Magnum Home — a pop-up space in an old Georgian townhouse by the British Museum. The pop-up features the exhibit Just Kids: Magnum Photographers on Youth Culture, curated by Ekow Eshun. The exhibit explores youth culture and its performance across gender, class and cultures as it has been documented in the Magnum archive from the 1960s onward. In response to the photographs in the pop-up space, interior designer Yinka Ilori stages vibrant immersive spaces and furniture to explore how youth inhabit the notion of home and domestic space. Drawing on Nigerian prints and textures, Ilori interjects memories of his own youth as a second-generation immigrant in the period home. The Magnum Home is open from 17 – 21 May 2017 and will feature a series of talks and programs through its run. Check out Plinth for more information.
