Junya Watanabe's SS17 collection references a clever mix of '50s silhouettes and eastern European gangs with his signature mixed material applications and boldly patterned aesthetic. A strong capsule of wide leg trousers and draping outerwear highlight the range, but these slim and tapered checkered pants are easily one of my favourites this season. Maybe because they remind me of wardrobe staples similar to what lead characters were wearing in Danny Boyles "Trainspotting". Besides that, you'd be hard pressed to find flaws in Watanabe's craftsmanship and attention to textiles and impeccable tailoring.
