Junya Watanabe Debuts Fall/Winter 2017 Collection at Paris Fashion Week

Paris Fashion Week has just begun and is off to a strong start with the Junya Watanabe MAN FW17 show. After a string of more conceptual collections, FW17 marks a return to what Watanabe does best- contemporary and patchwork-laden takes on workwear, military, and classic menswear staples. Hiking and outdoor themes are evident throughout the collection including trail runners and heavy parkas and it comes as little surprise that the collection includes several collaborative items with iconic American outdoor brand The North Face. Though it leans heavily on the staple pillars of menswear, Watanabe still pushes things forward with slight touches of streetwear and subtle eastern European influences seen in zip-collar turtlenecks and hoodies acting as main layering pieces.
