POPEYE Magazine celebrates an outstanding achievement in 2016, marking it's 40th year in circulation. As one of Japan's most highly regarded publications, it has influenced generations of Japanese men and was instrumental in ushering in American & western styling to the Japanese marketplace. The magazine continues to remain relevant and has been steadily gaining in popularity with the appointment of Takahiro Kinoshita as Editor-In-Chief in 2012. The former BRUTUS editor provided a much needed refresh, hiring Akio Hasegawa as fashion director and including more cultural content and a more coherent design. Accompanying the new issue of POPEYE comes an exact copy of the debut July 1976 issue which documents a trip to California's west coast in search of authentic American style.
