NOWNESS Follows artist André as he takes on a mammoth sized project

NOWNESS follows Swedish-born - artist André Saraiva, as he takes on a massive new project in his home town in Lisbon Portugal. Renowned for his quick and whimsical marker & spray paint graffiti, this latest endeavour has him painting in a more traditional brush stroke style on ceramic tiles. The finished piece spans 170 meters across a popular square in the city and features roughly 53,000 individual tiles. This project holds a special meaning to the artist as both his parents are Portuguese, along with a guarantee that the mural will be on display for generations to come.

"graffitis never last more than five years...this is kind of like my own private little Sistine Chapel. I'am using a technique that will allow it to remain for at least a hundred years."
