Created as a homage to the history of the London Underground transit system, Roundel London is a relatively new brand that has recently collaborated with NikeLab.
The Spiridon has been steadily releasing in different colourways since the initial "retro" introduction this summer but this particular collaboration has a deeper substance behind it than just flashy details. The main textile of the shoe is printed with the iconic "Johnston" typeface that was commissioned and branded specifically for the London Underground. This has remained unchanged for the last one hundred years, only going through a very slight update just this year. The font has built a recognizable identity for not only the underground system but for the city of London and is just as culturally impactful as it is historical. The shoe also has reflective 3M detailing throughout and features an iridescent swoosh.
Having already released early exclusively in London and Tokyo, the NikeLab x Roundel Spiridon comes in two colours and is set for a worldwide release on November 17th at select NikeLab retailers.
